January 29 The Console Wars!To the people who don't know what I'm talking about, the "Console Wars" are all about the Nintendo Wii, Microsoft Xbox 360, and the Sony Playstation 3.
Everyone wants to know, "Who will win?"
I hands down know that the Nintendo Wii will win. Why? Let's take a look at the count right now (these statistics started when the respective system debuted):
Now these statics show the 360 is in the lead, but think of it this way:
It's taken 1-and-a-half years for Xbox to sell (at this point) 10,656,719.
Nintendo Wii is at 4,350,834, and that's only taken 2 months!
Now, some people may suggest "well, everything sells fast during holiday seasons..." However, at any major store, it is virtually impossible to score a Wii.
Playstation 3? Ha ha ha. Go to any major store, and there's still one or more on the shelves! Why? No one wants to pay 500 USD for a system. And spend an additional 70 USD on a game. That's absolutely ludicrous.
Now tell me what games does Playstation 3 have to stand by?
There's only one: "Final Fantasy". But so what? There's Final Fantasy on Nintendo Gameboy and DS.
Oh yeah, I forgot - any Final Fantasy title found on Playstation 2-3 can also be bought in PC format. Nothing unique to the Playstation 3 there.
"Xbox 360 has Halo!"
How many times do I have to hear this? SO WHAT?
First-person shooters (FPS) may be fun, but come on.
Why buy a FPS for a 10 year old kid? It's rated "M", and you want to teach your kid it's all right to blow the crap out of another person by fragging him or her in the head? Or backstab someone with a knife?
Xbox is only a FPS unit - any other titles/game types on it are cross-platform, and aren't unique to the 360.
"Wii just has kiddie games!"
NO WAY!
What do you specify by "kiddie game" anyway?
There's games for any age, whether it be young or old.
Wii Sports is one awesome game - and my parents loved it!
I like it too, and Zelda's great for anyone, and other games like Elebits are not only creative, they're addictive.
Nintendo's got the best games out there, not just creative, but fun.
I may like FPSes, but I prefer platformers (like Super Mario Bros.), adventure games (like Zelda: Twilight Princess), sports games (like Wii Sports), other-genre games (Trauma Center: Second Opinion and Elebits), and puzzle games (Tetris DS).
So in my opinion, whoever's got the most fun games will win the Console Wars.
And Nintendo's got the upper hand. Case closed.
